I have been asked to try to get together a few drivers last minute for drifting at a local oval track during intermission. The thing is it's tommorow July 3rd. It will be around 6. Anyone drifting with us will have free admission I will also do free tire mounting off site at my shop but we shouldn't go threw many due to it only being a short session.
This does have walls and is banked if your not comfortable DON'T DO IT

Madsen(tothegrave), Dugdug, Tj Ras, and I had a small go at the track two weeks ago and it's not to bad to drift. Unfountantly I only had 3 laps in before my fuel rail popped off and had a little fire.

We have talk to the owners about the place and getting sections of the infield paved to make it better for drifters and hopfully will be putting a small event/ car show later this year I will keep everyone posted on that...

whats the name of this track and address? im in factoryville PA, and interested in anywhere thats fairly close to drift at... i think hazleton is only 1 hr... Im also kicking around the idea of approaching some ppl I kno that have large lots, but I know the 1st thing ther going to ask is about insurance and I dont know who to get insurance from for a 1 day event or how much that would cost? did u guys have to set that up for this? any help appreciated...

We ended up doing a short 15 minute "demo" at this track on the 3rd. It's really a pretty good little course and the owners seem like they are going to get an event or two together for the fall. It's called the Sundance Vacations Speedway in Drums, PA (http://www.mountainspeedway.com/)

Petch, let me know if there's anything I can do to help with that, I'm happy to get the word out, work up some flyers, etc.

As long as I don't get lost again, it's really not that far for me from Atown, probably 1 hour from where I live.

i just talked to petch today and they are trying to get something going for the 22nd of august. its still not 100%, theyre trying to work out a few things. they really want to get a feel for how many people would attend events there before they fork out the money to pave a section of the infeild so even though its an oval, for now, people should come out and show some support drivers and spectators.

like i said the 22nd is still in the works. and we are also trying to get a bigger car show and drift event later on.

and thank you chris for coming out for the 15 minutes or so.

45 minutes if i drive slow. 30 minutes if i do the speed limit and my record is 15 minutes doing 95 the whole way.
